Hyattsville Arts Festival Returns Saturday With Special Tribute
Now in its 17th year, the Hyattsville Arts Festival will bring art, music, and food trucks to the Route 1 corridor Saturday, Sept. 19, on Gallatin Street from noon to 6 p.m.
The annual event will feature more than 100 exhibitors and local and regional artists, including the D.C.-based 90s-inspired alternative rock band Flowers for the Dead, the Latin Grammy-nominated Elena La Fulana, the jazz-focused Mike Cemprola Trio, and The Jogo Project, a long-running D.C. go-go and jazz band.
Food vendors include local favorites Brentwood’s The Burger Shop and La Michoacana, Mount Rainier’s Carañito Panaderia Mexican bakery, Hyattsville’s Pizzeria Paradiso, along with shaved ice, barbecue, tacos and fried fish.
This year’s festival will include a special tribute at 1 p.m. to the festival’s founder, former Hyattsville Community Development Corporation president Stuart Eisenberg, who died in August.
