The Hall CP, a new dining, music and events venue in College Park, will hold a soft launch on Tuesday morning, Jan. 7, operating seven days a week on a limited basis from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Located at 4656 Hotel Dr. next to WeWork and the Hotel at the University of Maryland, the latest addition to College Park’s arts scene will host everything from book readings and music performances to tailgate parties and other social events. It will hold an official grand opening later this month, offering a full dining menu and extended hours.

The Hall was the brainchild of Scott Plank, a University of Maryland alum who is now the CEO of War Horse Cities in Baltimore. He sees The Hall as becoming a central gathering place for artists, entrepreneurs, academics and others to meet up.

“The Hall CP stems from a long-standing relationship between War Horse Cities and We Work, resulting in an incredibly simple and successful concept that similarly brought the arts and tech communities together in a unique way in San Francisco,” he said in a statement provided to the Hyattsville Wire. “Now, we’re bringing that concept to College Park.”

With 7,000 square feet inside and 13,000 outside, The Hall will be able to hold a diverse array of events. The performance and private events space inside includes a pizzeria, coffee shop, full-service restaurant, outdoor patio and multiple bar areas.

Food and beverage service will be overseen by Baltimore-area restaurateurs Chad Gauss of The Food Market and Dennis Sharoky of Coal Fire Pizza, and they will serve Vigilante Coffee.

While specific events have not yet been unveiled, Plank said The Hall will host alumni events, musical performances, book readings and lecture series, even drawing attendees from as far as D.C. once a nearby Purple Line stop is up and running in 2022.
