Shortcake Bakery has adapted brunch to the new coronavirus rules.

This Sunday, the popular Hyattsville bakery will hold its second “Brunch on the Avenue” at outdoor tables at its location at 4700 Rhode Island Avenue.

The menu includes patatas bravas with fried duck eggs; specialty coffee drinks, mimosas and mead from neighboring Maryland Meadworks; and the usual sweet and savory baked goods. The bakery’s regular menu items will also be available for pickup.

Shortcake held pop-up brunches in October and November as it planned to roll out regular brunch hours this year in conjunction with French-trained chef Sergio Pembro.

Brunch on the Avenue hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
