Share Your News on the Hyattsville Wire With a Paid Sponsored Post

With the Hyattsville Wire celebrating our 10th anniversary online this spring, we’ve built a large following and a dedicated reader base that extends around the D.C. area, giving a voice to the Route 1 corridor. Now, through a new feature, you can share your own local news release on the Wire through a paid sponsored post.

Whether you’re an area business looking to draw in more customers or the organizer of an upcoming promotion, a post on the Hyattsville Wire is a great way to get the word out to a select audience.

Unlike our calendar listings which are only up for a set period of time when the event is occurring, sponsored posts are up on our site indefinitely, giving you the ability to share your news month after month.

Sponsored posts must cover topics on or around the Route 1 corridor and focus on the same kinds of news we cover such as arts, culture, history, business, dining, real estate, urban planning and development, and the environment. The Wire reserves the right to reject submissions from organizations or businesses covering news outside the area. We also reserve the right to reject a submission for making false or inflammatory claims, or for any reason. Because of our lifestyle news focus, sponsored posts are not available to political candidates or related campaigns.

Approved posts will be featured on the Hyattsville Wire with its own link which can be shared with your audience on social media. The post will then be tagged as a sponsored post but should be written in standard news or press release style. Posts may be edited for grammar and readability.

Submit your news as a paid sponsored post online by clicking here and adding your headline, a post with a maximum of 275 words and a horizontal photo in a jpeg or png file that is no bigger than 125 kb.

Event organizers can still continue to post upcoming happenings on our calendar for free. And readers who have a tip about a news story that they think we should cover can also send us an idea online through an easy-to-use form here.
