Azalea Classic Run

The Azalea Classic encompasses three events: a 5K race, a 1-mile race and a 1K race and will be held this year on May 4. It’s organized by the University Park Elementary School PTA and takes place on the beautiful residential streets of University Park, MD. Often lined with cheering fans and blooming azaleas, all streets are closed to traffic during the races.
The first event, the 1-mile, starts at 8:30am. The 1K begins at 8:45am and the USATF-sanctioned 5K starts at 9:00am. Race fees are: $15 for the 1-mile and 1K and $30 early-bird rate for the 5K (rising to $35 on April 19 and then $40 on the day before the race and $50 on race morning).
