Raising Cane’s Restaurant Opens in College Park
A fast-casual national chain restaurant specializing in chicken fingers opened this week in the space formerly occupied by Nando’s in College Park.
Located at 7400 Baltimore Ave., across from City Hall, Raising Cane’s joins other locations for the Texas-based chain in Union Station, on G Street, and in Falls Church, among other places.
Started in 1996 near the Louisiana State University campus, the chain focuses on a simple menu of chicken fingers and chicken sandwiches that appeals to college students, especially late at night.
While other D.C. locations close earlier, the College Park location will be open until 2 a.m.
Nando’s Peri-Peri, a South African chain that served spicy grilled chicken, operated at the location from 2015 until this summer. Before that, the space was occupied by Ratsie’s pizzeria.
