Manifest Bread Reopens in Expanded Space in Riverdale Park
Manifest Bread reopened in a larger space Wednesday.
After closing last July, the popular Riverdale Park bakery has been selling its bread at the Gateway Farmers Market in Brentwood. Although the original plan was a four-month closure, the renovations ended up taking a total of 10 months.
The new space has a larger seating area with around 3,000 square feet, or about 30 seats, for a restaurant that serves sandwiches and pastries.
Owners Rick and Tyes Cook had been thinking about starting a restaurant for years, but they got sidelined with the work of starting the bakery.
To finance the expansion, they turned to their customers, raising $47,275 from 539 backers on a Kickstarter campaign.
