Honeymoon Chicken Plans Opening in Former Federalist Pig Spot in Hyattsville
A fried chicken restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide plans to open a second location in Hyattsville at 5504 Baltimore Ave., in the former tire shop.
Honeymoon Chicken will feature its cage-free honey-dusted fried chicken across several menu items, including a bucket, a chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, and chicken and waffles.
The site was previously slated for a new Federalist Pig outpost, which had parked and briefly operated a food truck on site until 2022.
Both restaurants are owned by Catalogue, which was founded by award-winning chef Rob Sonderman and entrepreneur Steve Salis. Sonderman left the company over the summer to focus on starting a new restaurant, while Salis aims to expand the company’s existing properties.
“The reality is that we have a chicken business that, for all intents and purposes, is ready to go, and we’re going to be adding many more units,” Salis said in a recent article in the Washington Business Journal.
Catalogue also plans to open another Honeymoon Chicken in Alexandria.
